I brought my mother to Medical Park Florya Hospital for breast reduction surgery. We were led into an office… The doctor was slumped in a chair, and there was a man sitting next to him whose role no one explained. While we were inside, the assistant rushed around the room in a disorderly manner.
We explained our concerns and asked questions about the risks of the surgery, to which the doctor, showing no professionalism whatsoever, replied, “Every surgery has its risks.” Then he said, “Let’s take a look at the area where the operation will be performed,” and added, “Go over there and close the curtain,” because he apparently had no intention of getting up himself. While my mother was getting ready, the doctor continued to chat about unrelated topics with the same unknown man. The examination lasted no more than 10 seconds.
After that, we tried again to get some information about the operation, but to no avail. Questions such as “When will the operation take place?” were answered evasively: “We have a lot of patients right now.” When asked about the price, we were told, “Find out downstairs.” We realized that it was time for us to leave — after all, they had “important business” to attend to.
We left feeling completely confused and useless. On the way out, an assistant named Abdullah politely invited a woman who was waiting in the corridor into the office: “Come in, the doctor is waiting for you.” Apparently, not everyone deserves respect, only the chosen few. And, of course, the man in the chair, whose identity was never explained to us, was still sitting there…
A few months ago, my brother had surgery at the same hospital performed by Dr. Khalil Alysh. We compared him to this doctor and realized that even if the latter ate forty loaves of bread, he would never be like him. Dr. Khalil greeted patients standing up, accompanied them to the door, and treated them with respect — that’s what I consider a real doctor to be. Not someone who, slumped in a chair, orders an elderly woman to close the curtain behind her.
