- Hello. Welcome, Maria. How are you?
I’m very well, thank you. Could you please tell us which hair transplant methods you use and why?
- We use the FUE method, which is one of the most advanced techniques in hair transplantation. However, we combine it with the sapphire DHI method.
For example, we extract grafts from the back of the head using the classic FUE technique. However, what is important is that in our clinic we pay special attention to the natural hairline, density, and overall success of the procedure. That is why we additionally use sapphire micro-blades and an implantation pen.
- Could you show this pen? What does it look like?
We have different sizes and thicknesses of transplanted hair. For example, we need to design a hairline, which is extremely important. So at the first stage, we determine the direction of hair growth and density. First, we make tiny incisions using sapphire blades. Then through these incisions we define the direction, angle, and density of future hair in the transplant area. After that, we place the follicles one by one into a small implantation pen.
- It is really small.
Yes, it is very small. It is just slightly thicker here than there. The pen protects the follicle from all sides during implantation. Then we place the grafts into the pre-made incisions very carefully. In this way, the follicles achieve the highest survival rate.
- What is the survival rate with the DHI method?
With the DHI method, the success rate is almost 100%. If everything is done correctly — the follicles are carefully extracted, stored in the proper nutrient medium, placed correctly into the implantation pen, and implanted properly — the survival rate is very close to 100%.
- Which method would you recommend to patients — FUE or DHI?
Based on the results we achieve in our clinic, and considering that patients come to us from all over the world and we constantly monitor outcomes, I would recommend the sapphire DHI method.
- What is the advantage of the sapphire technique?
A sapphire blade is an extremely sharp and precise tool with a specific diameter, depth, and very high cutting quality. With it, we can create thousands of very small incisions.
- Healing is faster when it is used, am I right?
Yes, healing is faster. If you look at the shape of the blade, it resembles an arrow. That is why tissue trauma is minimal, and recovery happens more quickly.
- How long does the healing process take with the sapphire DHI method?
The healing process takes about one week. However, what matters to us is not only the external healing. More important is the internal healing under the scalp, which we cannot see. This is where the advantage of the sapphire blade becomes clear, as it minimizes tissue damage.
- So if I understood correctly, to achieve a 100% result and preserve the hair, we should use the sapphire DHI method, right?
Yes, exactly the sapphire method. However, there are different sizes of sapphire blades. There are also large sapphire blades. If you use such blades, you will not get any advantage. A sapphire blade should have an arrow-like shape and be as small as possible. Minimal skin trauma is the key to success.
Results, Recovery and Safety
- When can patients expect to see results from a hair transplant?
Patients can see results in approximately six to eighteen months. However, this period may vary depending on the individual’s body. The first results with micro-sapphire blades are usually visible after six months. In general, we tell patients that the final result can be evaluated within 6–18 months.
- Is there a risk that the hair will fall out again after one, two, or three years?
If the hair is taken from the correct donor area, it will last for a lifetime.
- Do you observe any complications in your patients after the procedure?
We do not see any problems or complications. We provide all the necessary medications for post-operative care, and we stay in contact with patients online. To this day, we have not encountered any complications.
